This tech note describes Theta Enterprises' dynamometer file format.
Theta dynamometer files are ASCII files with a .DYN extension. They consist of load-position pairs, measured pumping speed, measured stroke length, counterbalance effect information, traveling and standing valve loads, and run time information.
The file must contain enough points to accurately represent one dynamometer card cycle. Therefore, 90-150 position-load points are recommended. The load data points must be measured at equal time increments. This is an ASCII file with a "*.DYN" file name extension.
