Legacy RODSTAR 2.42 Fixlist

Note: Release prior to 3.x are no longer supported. However, Release 2.4.2.6 will continue to be available for download for customers who have older pre-Windows 2000 operating systems.

Version 2.4.2.6 (released 14 February 2006)
Fixed problem where IPR Button on Production Info window gave error message and then exited.
Fixed message for Network USB Sentinel to display message to tell user when all available licenses are in use, rather than message that Sentinel could not be found.

Version 2.4.2.5 (released 24 January 2006)
Fixed: USB Sentinel version was giving zero for Water Specific Gravity default. This gave exagerated rod stress results.

Version 2.4.2.4 (released 17 January 2006)
Fixed: Enhanced calculation of bouyant rod weight to be more accurate by calculating polished rod weight and pump weight.
New: Included the Release Number on the Report title.
New: Install has dialog box for location of Well File Directory, default C:\THETA. This will be the default for Opening and Saving files.
Fixed: Bug was showing "file not found" during Sentinel checking.

Version 2.4.2.3 (released 26 September 2005)
New: Implemented Standardized Install Paths.

Fixed problem with dropdown appearing empty until scrolled.

Version 2.4.1.7 (released 22 July 2004)
Added Tenaris PLUS, Tenaris UHS-NR, and Tenaris MMS-NR rod grades.
Change Electra Tensile Strength to show "N/A" because of stress calculation method used.
Cost settings for Rod Strings changed to show 2 decimals so columns fit for Canadian and Metric units.
Canadian units fixed to show properly in Batch Mode spreadsheet.
Fixed Custom Rod Grade Cost that was not being saved.
For RODDIAG files imported using old FiberFlex 25 and 30 Rods, these were changed to be handled as FiberFlex 37 Rods.
Fixed Custom Rod Grade stress methods that were saved but not being read in and used.

Fixed display and setting for Country and Regional differences in formatting of decimals and commas in numbers.
Support for using files created by soon-to-be-released XDIAG 32-bit program.
Fixed situation where Fibercom .75" rods did not have weight set.

Version 2.4.1.4 (released 12 December 2003)
New ProRod 620 and 790 rod grades.
New Norris 96 rod grade and added 1.25 rod for Norris 97.
Support for 1/16" increments in rod diameters for ProRod and Corod.
Increased the range of torque checked in the calculation of the Counterbalance Moment to find lowest energy cost.
Report now shows Tensile Strength for all rod grades, not just those using API method.
Implements use of XML files for later integration with new 32-bit versions of Theta products.

New Fibercom and UPCO rod strings were added and updated.
Fixed bug where saving a .RST file after running did not appear to always save the results.
Fixed bug where IPR Data in Canadian and Metric units caused "division by zero" error if < 5m3/D.
Enlarged main screen area to fit Reports viewed in high resolution mode on some LCD screens.

Version 2.4.1.1 (released 25 March 2003)
Fixed problem so 18.5/16 Corod can be used with 2 7/8 tubing.
Enlarged dropdown boxes that were not initially scrolling to show all the Rod Types, Tubing Sizes, and Plunger Sizes available.
Fixed error that could occur if a file was opened that used a Custom Rod Grade that was not saved in the Setup. It now gives the option to automatically load it into Setup.
Fixed error in "Adding a Rod Section" that could occur if user clicked outside the area for adding a section.

Version 2.4.1.0 (released 07 November 2002)
Fixed problem where Service Factor was rounding off to one decimal on the printed report and did not agree with screen display that supports 3 decimal places.

Version 2.4.0.9 (released 04 October 2002)
Fixed problem with error when adding or modifying custom pumping units. Also makes some additional pumping units available to the program.

Version 2.4.0.4 (released 13 April 2002)
Fixed problem with reports not being saved and with previous results remaining in memory and showing on next case opened. This also solves problem that was occurring when Batch Processing was run using the option to "Don't Re-run Cases with Saved Output". This now works with saved output.

The following changes were made at the request of Weatherford Artificial Lift:


For Axelson S-87, S-67, and S60 rods, we changed the calculation back to API Modified Goodman using (tensile strength)/4.0.
Fiberflex, Inc. informed us that it no longer manufactures the 1.20 inch O.D. (1.70 inch I.D.) rod. We have removed the data for the 1.20 inch rod from the library.

Version 2.3.9.0 (released 19 June 2001)
Updated to read files created with XDIAG 1.4.1.0.
When asking whether to load the original measured surface card or the corrected surface card from a file created with XDIAG 1.41 or later, RODSTAR now shows a list of corrections that have been made to the surface card.

Version 2.3.7.1 (released 30 Nov 2000)
Windows NT and Windows 2000 user profiles are now supported. On these operating systems, program settings are stored in a folder named "THETA" within the folder named by the APPDATA environment variable (if defined) or the USERPROFILE environment variable. Note that if the program settings files are already present on the system, they will continue to be used in their current locations.
Improved the fiberglass rod string design algorithm to handle certain setups that would run indefinitely.

RODSTAR 2.36 Fixlist

Version 2.3.6.6 (released 17 Nov 2000)
When designing a rod string, a warning is now given if a sinker bar diameter is chosen that does not fit into the selected tubing size.
When designing a rod string in a new case, the maximum steel rod diameter to consider is adjusted to take into account the selected tubing size.
For new cases, RODSTAR now defaults to excluding buoyancy effects from its calculations.

Version 2.3.6.5 (released 2 Aug 2000)
If a RODSTAR case had a non-zero value for the rod string extra cost,
blanking the value on that screen would still retain the old extra cost
value. Now the extra cost value is set to zero if the field is blanked out.
Added support for serial numbers greater than 32000.

Version 2.3.6.3 (released 2 Aug 2000)
Corrected a problem where program data files might not be located if they were stored in a folder listed on the system path rather than in the folder where RODSTAR is located.
